Rosebound Bookshop is a woman-owned, independent romance bookshop located in Morris Plains, New Jersey, with a little nostalgia at its heart.

How Rosebound Began

Rosebound was founded by Christina Simeone, a lifelong reader with a particular love for romance, fantasy romance, and bookshops that feel like they have a story of their own. What started as an online and pop-up shop became a brick-and-mortar bookstore after finding a small storefront in the heart of historic Morris Plains that felt like the perfect home for Rosebound.

The shop was inspired by the neighborhood bookshops we grew up seeing in movies where the shelves felt personal, display windows changed with the seasons, and there was always something you hadn’t noticed before. A little You’ve Got Mail, reimagined for the books and readers of today!

At the center of it all is a love of romance. Rosebound was created to give romance the kind of space it deserves - an entire bookshop built around love stories, favorite tropes, favorite books and beautiful editions. Our shelves span everything from contemporary and sports romance to dark romance, romantasy, and beyond, with every title thoughtfully chosen for the shop.

We’ve even made a little room for our youngest readers, with a children’s corner inspired by enchanted forests, faeries, and magic.

And while the books are carefully curated, the shop itself isn’t meant to feel too polished. Handwritten recommendations, flowers, patterns, handmade details, changing displays, and plenty of ideas that started with “what if we tried this?” have all become part of Rosebound’s personality since opening.

Rosebound Today

Since opening our doors in Morris Plains in May 2026, Rosebound has become just as much about the people who walk through the doors as the books on the shelves.

Book clubs, release nights, author visits, workshops, conversations across the counter, and familiar faces have all become part of the story. We love celebrating the books everyone is counting down to, introducing someone to a new favorite, and creating reasons for readers to come together beyond simply shopping for their next read.

Rosebound is still growing, changing, and finding new ways to make the shop our own, and the story is still very much being written.
